Emma Thompson named TB Ambassador

19 01 2015

British actress Dame Emma Thompson, known for her roles in films such as Saving Mr Banks and Love Actually, has been appointed as TB Ambassador by Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.

Thompson, whose son Tindy was previously diagnosed and treated for TB, said 'I am delighted that my involvement in this fight will be ongoing as the Mayor of London has invited me to be his TB ambassador to highlight the action we need to take to fight this disease, a disease of which I have personal experience'. TB is more prevalent in London than any other capital in the developed world, and Thompson aims to help raise more awareness in her new role.
